A Little Fall Oasis in the Heart of Boerne 🍂
Saige Diaz | October 18th 2026
Sometimes the sweetest places around town are the ones you stumble upon unexpectedly.
First United Methodist Church in Boerne has created a welcoming outdoor space where families and neighbors can slow down, enjoy the fall weather, and spend a little time together.
Located near downtown Boerne at 207 E Theissen St, Boerne, TX 78006, the church's backyard gathering area is filled with simple touches that make it feel like a little fall oasis.
A Space to Gather, Play & Relax
During a recent visit, we discovered a lovely setup featuring:
Yard games for families and friends
Hay bales for seasonal photos or a place to sit
Picnic tables for gathering and visiting
An outdoor labyrinth for a peaceful, reflective walk
Open space for kids to play and enjoy being outside
It's the kind of place where you can bring the kids, enjoy a little fresh air, and connect with your neighbors without needing a packed schedule or expensive outing.
The space is available for the community to enjoy respectfully. Families are encouraged to help keep it clean and care for the games and outdoor features so everyone can continue to enjoy them.
The church is also welcoming donations toward a fence for the area.
Coming Soon: A Free Halloween Festival!
First United Methodist Church is also preparing for its family-friendly Halloween Festival.
Saturday, October 31 | 5:30–7 PM
205 James Street, Boerne | Free Admission
Families can look forward to trunk-or-treating, inflatables, games, activities, and a free dinner. Chloe Bell's Shaved Ice will also be onsite.
Love Where You Live
We love discovering spaces like this around Boerne. They're a reminder that community doesn't always have to revolve around a big event or a special occasion.
Sometimes it's as simple as a picnic table, a game in the grass, and a welcoming place to spend an afternoon.
Thank you to First United Methodist Church for creating a space that brings neighbors together! 🫶🏻
