Kid-Friendly Guide to the Kendall County Fair 🎡

📅 Labor Day Weekend: August 29–31, 2025
📍 Boerne, TX

Admission is $20 per person per day. Kids 10 and under are FREE. Gate admission includes entry into the grounds, All day entertainment including nightly headliners, general admission to the UPRA Rodeo, access to the shopping and exhibit halls and the livestock show.

1. Kendall County Fair Parade

The 119th Annual Kendall County Fair Parade is one of the most exciting ways to kick off Labor Day Weekend! Floats, marching units, bands, and “just plain folks” from across South Texas come together to celebrate our community and hometown spirit.

  • Date: Saturday, August 30, 2025

  • Time: 10:00 AM sharp

  • Route: North Main at Boerne Fire Station → south on Main Street to the Fairgrounds

    Don’t miss:

    • The newly crowned Fair Queen and her court

    • Colorful floats, marching bands, and fun for all ages

    • Bring chairs or blankets and come early — tailgating is welcome!

2. Mutton Busting: Tiny Cowboys & Cowgirls Ride! 🐑🤠

  • Registration: Opens August 8 at midnight, closes August 22 at 5 PM

  • Entry Fee: $35, payable at check-in at 6:30 PM on performance night - Bring cash (and I think Check) NO cards.

  • Tip: Spots fill fast — arrive early and get ready for some fun!

Personal Note: Last year, my son did Mutton Busting for the first time. As a mom, you’re excited and nervous, but it’s a unique experience that your child will remember forever! Be prepared for a short wait before your child gets on the sheep.

3. Flippen Out Extreme Trampoline Show 🤸‍♂️🎪

New this year! Get ready for edge-of-your-seat excitement with the Flippen Out Extreme Trampoline Show. Kids and families will be amazed by high-flying flips, tricks, and stunts.

  • Dates: Saturday, August 30 – Sunday, August 31

  • Time: Daytime performances (exact times TBD)

4. Annual Coloring Contest 🎨

  • Age Divisions: 4–6, 7–9, 10–12

  • Prizes: Participation ribbons for all, plus cash prizes and ribbons for winners

  • Deadline: Hand-deliver entries by 5 PM, Thursday, August 29

  • Winner Announcement: Friday, August 31

Kids can use crayons, markers, or paint — the goal is to let imagination shine!

5. Ole West Gunfighters Show 🤠🎭

Laugh out loud with the incredibly funny Ole West Gunfighter’s Show, a brand-new daytime entertainment act for the fair!

  • Dates: Throughout the fair weekend

6. Carnival Rides & Games 🎠🎡

The fair offers rides for all ages:

  • Ferris Wheel

  • Carousel

  • Classic games with prizes

  • Tickets to the fair do not include rides! The carnival is provided by Alamo Attractions, Inc. They sell armbands and tickets to ride the different attractions. The rides will shut down during the hottest time of the day for the safety of the patrons. Closed toe shoes must be worn to ride.

8. Rodeo Fun for 3 Nights! 🤠🐂

The fair features UPRA Pro Rodeo performances over 3 nights — action-packed excitement for the whole family!

  • Dates & Time: Friday, August 29 – Sunday, August 31 at 8:00 PM

  • Events include: bull riding, barrel racing, and the ever-popular Mutton Busting for kids under 60 lbs

  • Special Note: Sunday features Extreme Bull Riding only

  • Saturday: Coffey Anderson

  • Sunday: Glen Templeton

  • Funnel cakes, corn dogs, ice cream, lemonade, and more

Tips for Families

  • Plan ahead for Mutton Busting, rodeo shows, and daytime shows — spots fill fast

  • Bring sunscreen, hats, water, and comfortable shoes

  • Dress for comfort — boots optional, smiles required
