River Road Run 2026

  • Comfort Park Texas 27 Comfort, TX United States (map)

Start the new year with scenic views, historic charm, and a challenge for every runner at the 2026 River Road Run in Comfort, Texas. Taking place on Saturday, January 10, this popular race is the first of four in the Texas Hill Country Series and features multiple race options including a half marathon, the all-new SKYDOME 10-Miler, 10K, 5K, and a .05K fun run.

The race begins at Comfort Park near the town’s iconic gazebo and leads runners into the heart of the Hill Country. Participants will wind through shady streets, pass historic architecture, and enjoy glimpses of Cypress Creek and the Guadalupe River along the way. Comfort’s welcoming downtown offers shops, local eateries, and the rich character of nearly 100 pre-1910 buildings, making this event a true “run-cation” destination.

Start times are staggered by distance:

  • 8:01 am: Half Marathon & 10-Miler

  • 8:31 am: 10K & Competitive 5K Walkers

  • 9:01 am: 5K

  • 9:06 am: .05K Fun Run

Entry fees range from $40 to $99 depending on distance and registration timing. A $5 late fee applies 15 days before the event, and another $5 is added within the last 5 days. Race day registration is available with a $10 upcharge.

All participants will receive a finisher medal, and awards will be presented to the top four finishers in each age group for the 5K, 10K, and half marathon. Special awards will also go to overall, masters, and super masters male and female finishers.

The event also introduces the SKYDOME 10-Miler—a challenging new route through the hills that promises bragging rights and a bonus race shirt for those who conquer it.

Packet pickup is available Friday, January 9 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Alamo Beer Company, 202 Lamar, San Antonio, TX. Race morning pickup begins at 7 am at the start line in Comfort Park (TX-27, Comfort, TX 78013).

Please note that registrations are non-refundable. Race changes or transfers incur a $20 fee in advance or $30 the day before the event. No transfers will be accepted on race day. Late registrants may need to pick up their shirts after the race has started.
